We would like to use the opportunity to invite you to the Linked In Group of the Western Balkans Geotourism Stewardship Council http://lnkd.in/359NRm   where professionals from and interested in the region exchange ideas and discussions. Comment and suggestions on the proposed activities are very welcome in the Linked In Group.


The Linked in Group is an open forum for: experts, businesses, associations and government organisations and individuals working in or with tourism in the Western Balkans.


All our welcome to join this group; to meet, to share their ideas, share best practices, provide inspiration, avoid duplicity of effort, give guidence, to cooperate in finding solutions for tourism realated problems which affect the whole region.


Made up of business and NGO professionals, the 'Western Balkans Geotourism Stewardship Council' promotes tourism cooperation in the Western Balkans, (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia). The Council's initial role has been to fund, manage and develop the "National Geographic Western Balkans Map Guide".

The Map Guide is a free promotional resource for all tourism businesses or attractions, which abide by the National Geographic Geotourism Criteria.

We believe that well managed tourism will be beneficial, not only for economic growth and employment, but for cherishing and preserving the Western Balkan's unique cultural traditions and cultural diversity, and for the preservation of biodiversity within some of Europe's last pristine natural habitats.


So many people in the Western Balkans are passionate about the issues we face, through the WBGSC we can harness these energies, and through cooperation, support the development of successful, sustainable and beneficial tourism for all.
