ICT | Workshops - Sofia, Bulgaria - Agenda/Presentations

Between October 16-18 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria, a three-day event was organized by the Regional Competitiveness Initiative ( RCI ) in collaboration with the European Software Institute ( ESI ) Centre for Eastern Europe . With over 130 participants, this event brought best practices from four continents, with quality specialists and experts from 26 countries. The event was opened by H.E. James Warlick, U.S. ambassador to Bulgaria, the director of RCI, and featured a key note speech by the CEO of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Paul Nielsen.
The first two days were focused on quality standards and excellence for IT companies. On the third day, RCI brought together 40 participants from eight countries from the E&E region for the second annual RCI Regional IT Workshop. Representatives from USAID Missions, Projects, IT associations, and Excellence and Innovation Centers presented and discussed areas of cooperation in IT quality assurance for companies and individuals, sustainability of in country centers, establishment of regional networks, and enhancing the business to business opportunities.
